FAQ
Answers to common questions about ChronoHits — multiplayer music trivia, Music Bingo, leaderboards, platforms, and how the game compares to SongPop and Hitster.
What is ChronoHits?
ChronoHits is a music trivia game for iPhone and Android. You listen to short song clips, place hits on a chronological timeline, unlock achievements, and explore categories and playlists spanning decades of music.
Beyond the timeline quiz, ChronoHits includes Music Bingo, avatars, leaderboards, and multiplayer matches — so you can play solo for a quick round or challenge friends for a longer session.
How do you play?
Gameplay is simple: hear a music preview, then drag the track onto the timeline where you think it belongs. If it's in the correct order you score points. With a longer streak of correct placements you score more points
From there you can:
- Explore genres and playlists
- Unlock achievements as you progress
- Climb leaderboards
- Switch into Music Bingo for a party-friendly multiplayer round
Does it work offline?
No. ChronoHits needs an internet connection to play. Music previews stream through Apple Music and Spotify APIs, and multiplayer features and leaderboards also require connectivity. A offline experience is not supported.
Can I play with friends?
Yes. ChronoHits is designed for multiplayer. Both the timeline quiz and Music Bingo modes can be played with friends. You can form a group of up to four players for a game.
What is Music Bingo?
Music Bingo is a ChronoHits game mode where song clips are used to fill out a bingo-style card. As tracks play, you mark your card and race toward bingo—making it perfect for parties, family gatherings, or casual multiplayer sessions alongside the timeline quiz.
How it works: One of five question categories is selected at random:
- What is the title?
- Who is the artist?
- What is the year of release (± 1 year)?
- Which decade?
- Solo artist or band?
Each player answers the chosen question for the current track. If they answer correctly, they mark a cell on their card. The first player to complete a full row, column, or diagonal wins!
How do Achievements work?
Achievements are unlocked as you play. Completing challenges, winning matches, and reaching milestones all contribute. Achievements provide long-term goals beyond a single round and let you track your progress throughout your ChronoHits journey.
Your achievements are automatically synced with Game Center (iOS) or Google Play Games (Android).
Is it available on Android?
Yes. ChronoHits is available on Google Play for Android devices. Download is free, with an optional in-app purchase to remove ads and unlock more features.
Is it available on iOS?
Yes. ChronoHits is available on the App Store for iPhone. Download is free, with an optional in-app purchase to remove ads and unlock more features.
Can I create private matches?
Yes. You can create or join private multiplayer matches so you and your friends can play together in a closed group — whether you prefer the timeline quiz or Music Bingo.
What music genres are included?
ChronoHits covers Pop, Rock, Classics, Movies, and hits from the 1950s through today. Categories and playlists help you focus on the eras and styles you enjoy, whether you want chart-toppers, soundtrack moments, or deep cuts from decades past.
How many songs are there?
ChronoHits features thousands of hits across decades and genres. We do not publish a fixed song count because the catalog grows over time as new tracks and playlists are added.
How often are songs added?
The catalog is expanded regularly. New songs, categories, and playlists land over time so returning players always have something fresh to discover.
Is there a leaderboard?
Yes. ChronoHits includes a cross-platform leaderboards so you can compare scores with friends and players worldwide and see how you stack up over time. Compare daily, weekly, monthly and yearly scores.
How does the level system work?
You earn XP by placing songs correctly on the timeline and performing well in matches. Longer streaks and victories award even more XP. You also earn coins by reaching new levels, unlocking songs, and winning games.
Does ChronoHits work like SongPop?
People often compare ChronoHits to SongPop because both are mobile music trivia games — but the experience is different. SongPop leans on naming the track; ChronoHits centers on chronological placement on a timeline, with Music Bingo and multiplayer modes built in.
If you are looking for a SongPop alternative that rewards decade knowledge as much as title recall, ChronoHits is built for that.
Does ChronoHits work like Hitster?
ChronoHits shares Hitster's love of putting songs in chronological order, but it is a native multiplayer mobile game rather than a physical card party game. You get online matches, Music Bingo, achievements, categories, avatars, and leaderboards in one app.
Curious how they differ in practice? See our Hitster alternative overview, or browse articles for more music-trivia guides.
Can I play Music Bingo with friends?
Yes. Music Bingo is designed for multiplayer. Start a shared round with friends, listen to the clips together, and race to complete your cards — a natural fit for parties and group play on iPhone or Android.
